- Printing the Summaries FILE: FP.HLP
-
- Printing the reports generated via DBK can be handled one of two
- ways.
-
- Direct - This means that DBK will send the data to the printer of
- your choice. (See Output for more info on what printer ports are
- used.) In this mode, DBK will pause between pages assuming that
- you need to adjust your printer. If you print the entire summary
- (all pages), you may request continuous printing for tractor fed
- configurations.
-
- Indirect - Another way of printing is to write the results to a
- .SUM disk file. Then, after you have left DBK, the file can be
- sent to the printer of your choice via DOS. This method is no
- faster than the direct method but it does allow you the option
- of seeing the file before you print it. This might be desirable if
- you are running intermediate reviews. DOS commands for sending the
- .SUM file to the printer would look like this > COPY GOLFER.SUM
- PRN or COPY GOLFER.SUM LPT2 dependent upon which printer
- was to receive the data.
-
- Either way, make sure the printer is set for 132 columns. Use the
- Main Menu Ut lity option to send a condensing code for most dot
- matrix printers. If you have a standard carriage daisy wheel,
- you may not be able to write DBK reports.
